AI With Purpose
On AI Exponential Day in Barcelona, one idea stuck: business leaders can't just chase profit with AI, they have to weigh its wider impact.

Though this might be my first time writing about AI on this blog, I've been deeply involved in it for a while. As someone passionate about new technologies and innovation, I've had the chance to connect with incredible AI experts and take part in AI conferences to learn about emerging trends.
In conversations with colleagues outside the Web3 industry, I've noticed a mix of excitement and apprehension about AI adoption. That's natural in a VUCA world, Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous, where new technologies can feel overwhelming.
Recently I attended AI Exponential Day in Barcelona, organised by ACCIÓ, with talks from Chema Alonso and John Elkington. One idea stood out: "AI with purpose."
AI with purpose is the true potential of AI: using it for good. Instead of chasing profit alone, business leaders have to weigh the wider impact of the tools they build.
Augmenting people, not replacing them
Siemens sees AI as a means to enhance human ability, not replace it. Understanding the importance of human involvement in crafting effective AI solutions, especially in areas like cybersecurity, is key. Used responsibly, AI can bring about real, positive change.
Education is the multiplier
In an AI-driven era, accessible education and lifelong learning matter more than ever. Empowering people with knowledge mirrors what AI itself can do, and fostering diversity in how we develop talent ensures our values shape the augmented intelligence we're building.
We can't stop AI's progress, but we can guide its path with ethics and responsible use. Together, we have the power to leverage AI for our future: one where technology serves humanity, protects the generations to come and nurtures the well-being of our children.
I'm curious where you land on this: how do we make sure AI stays aligned with our values? Is it here to stay? What do you need to understand about how it works before you bring it into your daily life?
